The Brain in the School
The main objectives of this project were:
a) to obtain a description and statistical analysis of the associations between maternal health during pregnancy, family history, neuropsychomotor, neurocognitive and school development of the child (hereinafter referred to as Child Development History – HDC), enrolled in elementary school (first to fourth grade);
b) to conduct an electroencephalographic study of children with learning disorders, such as dyscalculia and dyslexia, compared to that of normal children, while they were performing computerized activities on reading, writing and arithmetic calculation;
c) to develop an Intelligent Database software that allows the collection of this information and helps in the characterization of children with disabilities and learning disorders and that can be used in the future by the Department of Education of the City of Mogi das Cruzes; and
d) to evaluate the Enscer System as a tool to promote the cognitive development of children with learning disorders.
